Important Notes

While this started out as a request from my mom, I am really excited about trying my hand at a true Hallmark love story!

The Story

Nothing is harder for a family to move past than the loss of someone special. For almost five years, Adelyn has raised their twin boys alone – who haven’t made moving on any easier. She finds solace in her volunteer work at Crossroads Assembly Church as their children’s choir director. This year’s show should be nothing unusual, until their lighted Christmas tree decides to catch fire. A new tree brings a new staff member, Keith, who doesn’t seem particularly interested in kids or Christmas. However, a few stage accidents and a church in need of saving has a way of bringing people together. Something even starts to bloom in the heart of winter until a familiar face comes around to ruin Keith’s Christmas spirit for good. Can they both discover a love only found at Christmas, or is it just too late for them to change?

Characters

Adelyn Sanderson

Adelyn is a single mother of two twin boys. She has been widowed for almost five years and hasn’t tried dating, as her heart still belongs to her husband. In addition to being super-mom and a bank teller, she is also the volunteer Choir Director at Crossroads Assembly Church and helps put together the big Christmas musicals.

Keith Grady

Keith was hired by the church to install and operate the lights for their new Christmas tree display. However, his dislike for kids and Christmas leads to issues between him and the staff. He hates Christmas for a reason, though. After several years with his girlfriend, he proposed on Christmas and they broke up because she wasn’t ready.

Chase Sanderson

Chance is the quieter (and self-proclaimed better-looking) twin. He doesn’t know how to tell his mom that being onstage isn’t what’s he interested in.

Chance Sanderson

Chase is the performer in the family, with an extroverted personality to match. He loves being the center of attention.

Important Notes

This is the first in a three-book series, which connects to a larger superhuman universe that I've been planning since the spring of my sophomore year in college! Hopefully, I'll be publishing this one by May 2019!

Story

The surfer, the introvert, the daredevil, and the artist. Four 'normal' teenagers with one big secret: they're superheroes. Their powers are new and dangerous and awful. As if their lives couldn't get worse, the world's darkest circus has come to town and intend to stay. Whoever said power is pleasure was dead wrong.

Characters

Adria Barnett-Evans

The nineteen-year-old firecracker, named Cinder in the media, is the loyal leader of these heroes. Raised in the sea, it came as quite the shock when she developed the ability to control fire. Determination and loyalty is what keeps this young woman burning.

Hunter Weston

The self-proclaimed prettiest of the team, Hunter Weston (Rascal) is the glue that holds everything together. Despite working at his parents' zoo, he hates animals after an incident with their resident tiger. The development of his animal affinity was not a pleasant surprise.

Damon Collate

Responsible, realistic, reserved Damon Collate is the final member of the team. His life revolves around his sister and an inability to handle social situations. Known as Intrepid, he uses his voice to bring destruction and salvation to Sunland Beach.

Iris Watts

Iris Watts, known to Sunland Beach as the beautiful Aerial, is the youngest member of the team and the most stubborn in implementing her powers. Despite the universe's love of irony, Iris keeps her feet firmly on the ground as often as possible.
