Jadyn, known as Spectrum in their small town, is a verbal powerhouse. She doesn't allow herself to be pushed around by anyone. Her goal is to fight social injustice when she sees it, a goal others find admirable. However, the town and her team mates hate how she goes about it.
Tricia could be the sweetest person you've ever met - but she's not. As Abyss, she is a gaping black hole of a person. That might be why her powers manifested into what they did. It's strange that, with such a darkness swirling inside her, Tricia manages to be the bubbly and eccentric person that she is.
Gabriel is the bane of Jadyn's existence - for anyone asking, they are not siblings! He gets a kick out of everyone's confusion though. That might be why he dyed his hair red when she did the same. To the rest of the world, Gabriel is nothing more than a mischievous nuisance and he likes it that way.
Andrew sees himself as complicated - the others call him obnoxious. He struggles to maintain personal relationships because of this. That might be why his powers involve turning to stone. However, when you give him the chance, Andrew proves to be talented and brave on his own.
If you were to wonder who was the oldest on the team, chances are that Luke wouldn't be at the top of the list. He is the most immature and cocky, which proves to be a problem when it's time to be serious. His adventurous spirit doesn't help them much either, but his bold behavior helps make him a hero.
Kari doesn't mean to be so uptight with the rest of the group, or stern or scolding. It's only so natural for her to act as the leader because her powers are so dangerous. She has to be in control of herself or people get hurt. If only other people could understand that as well as she's come to.
